Overview

ABC of the perfect woman (in the kitchen) is an experimental film based on the work Semiotics of the Kitchen by Martha Rosler, which is part of the introductory text of the book The woman in the room and kitchen by Laura Santos. Going through the letters of the alphabet, a housewife presents different utensils challenging signifiers and meanings of the kitchen. The film seeks to deconstruct the idea of ​​the book that proclaims the need for women to master cooking and housework in order to be considered good wives and mothers and consequently achieve happiness in this way.
