Remember that scene from Russ Tamblyn's "Tom Thumb" (1956) when all the toys have to rush about frantically when they learn that an human is coming? Well there's a bit of that going on here as all the toys in the room hastily seek shelter wherever they can before a girl arrives, bent on a bit of mischief. Just by changing her facial expressions or waving her hand, she can move them around, she can damage them, torture them - even dismember and destroy them. That's a great excuse for the animator…
