_The Convent's_ inclusion of a single character seen only at the beginning and end of the film is basically all that separates it from being a shot-for-shot remake of _Night of the Demons_. Which I gues doesn't sound so bad in theory, I mean, I like that movie, so ripping it off isn't the worst idea. But if you're gonna steal the entire concept, maybe **don't** steal some of the other stuff. **_Tries too hard_** Several college students in SoCal break into a condemned convent for kicks, but its infamous past turns out to be worse than they understood. Havoc ensues. "The Convent" (2000) is an over-the-top horror/comedy that’s creative, energetic and edgy, but it’s too wannabe ‘hip’ and overcompensates.
