The Minneapolis Encounter

Overview

George Johansen and I made this Super 8 silent film in 1979 when I was 14 and he was 15. I played the monster, wearing a snake head mask and plastic garbage bags for a "suit." George was the alien, wearing a hockey helmet and a tinfoil mask. George's brother-in-law Brian was the Bum, and my brother Paul was the "Man with Boxes." It was directly inspired by Don Dohler's movie The Alien Factor which we had read about in Cinemagic magazine. 25 years after it was filmed, a kid at my school added sound to it!
