Watable, but the underlying message isn't a good one. That's my core takeaway from "Jack Ryan: Ghost War". Yes, by all means, watch this film as a basic, wholly familiar and predictable but nonetheless enjoyable action romp. Expect decent pacing, lots of action and mildly engaging characters. 74/100 Typical Clancy espionage thriller where Ryan must meet up with an agent and, as they say in the film, "It's never just about meeting someone". This is a pretty basic action thriller with a lot of the usual tropes, cliches and no surprises but it moved along at an exceptional pace, the characters were great, the dialogue was crisp with a few LOL moments and the action, although not remarkable compared to today's standards, was exciting and thrilling.
