An interesting breakdown of what ideas and studio ingenuity, along with concert work, that went into the Grateful Dead's "Anthem of the Sun" and "American Beauty" albums from '68 and '70. The doc details the innovative approach that went into the band's 2nd album, including the mixing of live & studio recordings, along w/ the ideas of Stockhausen and other experimental minds. And it also went into the change in perception of the band after releasing "American Beauty", and album much closer to we…
