Moor
Overview
Moor is a 2015 Pakistani drama film written and directed by Jami. Its title means “Mother” in Pashto, and the story connects the idea of motherhood with land, memory, and moral responsibility. The film follows Wahidullah Khan, a widowed station-master at the decaying Khost railway station on the Bostan–Zhob line in Balochistan. The railway system around him has collapsed under corruption: a mafia is buying up railway land, stripping tracks for steel, and turning stations into commercial property. Wahid is pressured to sell the station, but he is haunted by the wishes of his late wife, Palwasha, who believed the land was tied to the family’s identity and dignity.
