Harryhausen's special effects in this film are absolutely brilliant as always. I thought that the opening sequence in the submarine was excellent but the rest of the film, excluding Harryhausen's work, was unremarkable. Still definitely worth a watch 3/5

57/100 Early Ray Harryhausen creature feature about a radiation enhanced, giant octopus (with only 6 tentacles) attacking the west coast of the U.S. climaxing at the Golden Gate bridge. The creature effects were wonderful to watch as it threatens several ships and rips the bridge apart making them the obvious highlight of the film. But the stuff in between ...sheesh. The writers seem to have a hard time giving us a plausible story making everything sort of silly and, even considering the sexu…
