Overview
In a small seaside town, two schoolgirls are assaulted by a middle-aged man in a motel. Mia, a teenager who was working on reception that night, is the only witness. For fear of losing her job, she says nothing. Meanwhile, 12-year-old Wen, one of the victims, finds that her troubles have only just begun. Trapped in a world that offers them no safety, Mia and Wen will have to find their own way out.

I know people like to bump up the ratings for socially conscious movies. That's not a bad thing. There are many movies treating different aspects of this same subject but perhaps this is the first one out of China and maybe it deserves all the awards just for that fact. I'm guessing the Chinese army of censors is just overworked and tired. These movies that portray seemingly unsolvable problems in the world just make me damned angry. Hell, that's one of the reasons I shy away from documentaries.…
