This isn't great Nowhere as groundbreaking as its predecessor, this movie is a bit fast and loose with its internal rules and consistency, and it unfortunately makes it much worse that it would have to be. The core premise is solid, but it just does not stick the landing in any useful way, and flounders without real tension. The visuals have aged substantially too, of course, but even with all that, you can tell that there is a good and scary movie down there, somewhere, waiting to be discovere…
