Overview

Dear Ale ruminates on the questions of where have we been and where are we going? The film takes the form of a letter addressed to a friend named Ale, they had moved away several years ago and the film acts as a direct line from the filmmaker to communicate their thoughts on the predicament that they're in. Dear Ale layers smartphone footage collected from February 2021 through July 2021 with animations to illustrate the humor and real concerns that that have for the world around us. The film explores topics such as the joys of hanging out with friends, seeing penises in windows, depression, and whether or not we will truly be safe from Covid-19. A must-watch for lovers of short documentaries or those that love to laugh at their own misery.
