Alex Caan
Biography
Alex Caan (born "Fayyaz Ahmed") is an actor who graduated from RADA in 1998. He appeared on several episodes of Coronation Street in 2006, and other credits include roles in EastEnders, Holby City, Rockface, Doctors, Ultimate Force, Spooks, Little Devil, The Last Enemy, Harley Street and Emmerdale. He also appeared in the films Brothers, Red Mercury and The Red Maple Leaf. On stage, he appeared in productions of The Song of Deborah, As You Like It, The Colour of Justice, Balti Kings, Unsuitable Girl, Ritual in Blood, Heroes, Beautiful Thing, Passage to India and The Fortune Club in Leicester. For radio, he was heard in the BBC Radio serials Silver Street and The Archers. A former high jumper at Iowa State University in the United States of America, he previously worked as a consultant coach for UK Athletics and in September 2009, was appointed as the national event coach for high jump in the build-up to the London 2012 Summer Olympics. He is sometimes confused with Alexander James Caan, the son of the late American actor James Caan, but they are two different people.
