Virat Kohli
Biography
Virat Kohli (born 5 November 1988, Delhi) is one of the greatest modern cricketers. He started playing cricket at a young age and trained at the West Delhi Cricket Academy. His dedication became evident early—famously, he played a Ranji Trophy match the day after his father’s death, showing remarkable mental strength. He rose to fame after captaining India to victory in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup. Soon after, he made his international debut in ODIs and gradually became a key player. He was part of the team that won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 under MS Dhoni. Kohli is known for his consistency, especially in run chases, earning him the nickname “Chase Master.” He became one of the fastest players to score thousands of runs in ODIs and is often compared to Sachin Tendulkar. He later became captain of India in all formats, leading the team to major successes, including a historic Test series win in Australia (2018–19). He also played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. Apart from cricket, Kohli is known for his fitness, aggressive attitude, and leadership. He is married to actress Anushka Sharma.
