Biography

Fred Goverde is a Dutch singer, guitarist, and songwriter based in Groningen, Netherlands. He is best known for his energetic, Dutch-language guitar pop and rock music, which seamlessly blends sharp poetry with a heavy dose of garage rock attitude. Critics frequently describe his sound as reminiscent of bands like The Hives or The Dandy Warhols, but performed in his native language. In addition to his solo career and eponymous rock band, Goverde serves as the frontman for the punk/boyband TAXITAXI. Known for his intense and sweat-drenched live performances, he has showcased his work at major Dutch music festivals and showcases, including Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) and Popronde. His songwriting is characterized by honest, raw, and unfiltered lyrics dealing with themes of modern relationships, vulnerability, and addiction.
