I have seen a few shows like this one, where real celebrities sort of play themselves, but to varying extents fictional versions of themselves. I liked the result in the case of The Trip, with Steve Coogin and Rob Bryson. This show didn’t really work for me, however. There were funny moments here and there, but part of me. Perhaps Bobby is periodically a jerk as he portrays himself here, but it came across to me as someone trying to be outrageous. It reminded of a story I heard where a woman …
