Among the flood of BL series that China has given us this year, “Litchi Island“ stands out as a unique work of art with wonderful cinematography and coloring. The story is set in a secluded island, where the protagonists Chen Li (Liu Yi He) and Nie Xiao Zhi (Hu Yi Chen) discover their sexual orientation and deep love through a shared interest in painting. TBH, this would have been in my "top five liust" of the year, if it didn’t have tiny English subtitles that are barely readable.
